Some of you may remember that last March I had the great privilege of interviewing Darryl. Here is the article that I wrote for Adoption.com based on
our interview . Our hour long chat also inspired several other blogs as well. Honestly, I have become a fan of his. I also discovered after our interview that both my sons enjoyed his music, and wrote about
that as well. It was fun for me to know that both my sons have listened to his music. My two sons have not yet met, but I liked discovering that they both have similar tastes in music.
Until I did the interview, I did not know that either of my sons liked rap. Actually, I did finally recall that my younger son liked rap when he was growing up, but did not remember that he listened to DMC as a teen. It is actually interesting that he does like rap as it is very out of character for him.
Here is a portion of my interview with Darryl:
Darryl McDaniels is bringing his compassion, forthrightness, and honesty to the adoption community. This big bad boy rapper has become a man with a purpose and a mission. He has the ability to do much good in the adoption community and the world, and I believe that he will.

Am I surprised that he is winning an award for his good works in adoption? Nah, not me! He said that adoption is now a mission for him when I interviewed him on the phone, and I believed him. I am pleased to hear of his good works though - he is a very good man!
