Recently, MTV emailed me asking for help in finding some adoptees looking for their birth fathers. They are looking for adoptees and others between the ages of 16 and 28, who are looking for their fathers for a potential show.

Not only are they looking for adoptees, but others who were separated from their fathers at an early age. This include those who wish to find their sperm donors. If you are interested email them at: father@mtvstaff.com with the details of your story.

Since its initial episode in 1998, MTV's award-winning True Life documentary series has told remarkable real-life stories of young people and the unusual subcultures they inhabit.

Some of you may recall that MTV aired a wonderful documentary last year about the legendary rap star, DMC aka Darryl McDaniels' adoption story. The documentary was done extremely well, and was very moving. After the documentary was aired, I had the pleasure of interviewingDarryl McDaniels for Adoption.com. He is a charming and engaging man, and interviewing him was such fun!

His adoption story initially ran on MTV and was repeated several times, but it has been awhile since it has aired. If you see it repeated, however, I highly recommend it. I watched it several times in preparation for my interview with Darryl McDaniels, and was moved and totally taken with it each time.

Usually when such a casting calls goes out, it is assumed that the show wishes to broadcast an on-air reunion. They did not specifically mention it, but I wonder if they might not assist with some resources in a search. Of course, reuniting on air has its pros and cons. However, if you have been searching with no success for someone, having an on air reunion might not sound unattractive.

Darryl McDaniels aka DMC's reunion with his birth mother in his documentary was very touching and moving. Although it was recorded on film, it was not broadcast before a live audience. I do not know exactly what MTV has in mind, but this MTV link will provide more information. Here is another MTV link to help you.

If you’re searching for your biological father, MTV wants to hear your story.
