The comic "Luann".

Starting on January 22, 2007 the story line for the comic strip is adoption. The story line goes on for several weeks and you can read each day by clicking the link for the next day.

The comic strip is written by Greg Evans and he hits the nail on the head for several issues that he manages to bring up in this series of comics. I have to wonder if he is an adoptee or sibling himself. His realistic twist on adoption search and reunion is well presented. Siblings are affected by natural parents being found and this comic strip shows how the feelings and emotions affect the sibling. This comic strip is focused on the adoptee, and a sibling. Natural parents are mentioned, and referred to but the focus is on the sibling aspect.

What I do know about Greg Evans and Luann is that Greg chronicles the joyful discoveries and torturous experiences of adolescence. It seems that Luann has developed a loyal following of readers of all ages in more than 300 newspapers for Luann and the realistic cast of characters.

Greg Evans has been praised for his amusing, insightful portrayals of the issues that teens face, everything from reaching puberty to dealing with pressure, drugs, and alcohol. .In his strips, Luann has held up a fine example of positive power cartoons can have.

Greg Evans position is that he has always dealt with serious subjects in Luann and he feels the comic strip can do more than just provide a daily chuckle. His intent isn’t necessarily to detail an ordeal but to explore the ways the issues at hand changes relationships.

I hope you enjoy the comic strip as much as I did. Let Greg know what you think of the story line. You can do so by clicking on the link to contact the artist.

There is a show in CMT called "Beyond Chance" and it talked about Greg and his wife Betty who placed thier daughter for adoption while they were in college. His daughter Rhonda had obtained the name of her birth parents (greg and betty) and where they went to college, but she didn't know anything else about them. One day she found Greg on his Luann website and she e-mailed telling him that she has a son who is really talented in comics (drawing and writing) and was looking for professional help for her son. After they communicated for a bit she asked him if he wife name was Betty ____ (?) (her madien name) and he said yes. She asked if they went to ______(?) college and he said yes. So then he asked her if she was friend from college, and said "no, I think I'm your daughter". And it turned out to be true, they reunited, and I think it's been about 10 years since the reunion
