The story at the following link caught my eye. With all the stuff going on in the middle east I found this to be a great story. The link is http://www.wfaa.com/sharedcontent/APStories/stories/D8JOCIGG2.html
The article was written by Elizabeth White a journalist for the Associated Press.
Reuniting with her father, Felicia Dorsey felt it was a life changing experience. She met her father for the first time in her 34 years of life at the San Antonio International Airport. She was then introduced to her brother that she had also never met before.
The father had believed until earlier this year that Felicia was stillborn in 1971. The reality was that Felicia’s natural mother, who was never married to her natural father, put Felicia up for adoption immediately after her birth.
While in Iraq, Felicia as encouraged by a colleague of hers to search for her natural parents even though she knew nothing about them. Felecia was aided in her search by a private investigator who was helping her for free. This search angel contacted Felicia in July with good and bad news. Her natural father was alive and running a hair salon in Los Angeles and he natural mother had passed away last year of heart disease.

Felecia’s adoptive parents are both deceased. She had lived in two other foster homes prior to being adopted. Felecia had minimal information to offer the search angel except that her name was once Mimi when in foster care and that she was born in Los Angeles.
Felecia and her natural father first spoke on the phone. Her natural father was in Los Angeles and Felecia was in Iraq. They had a wonderful conversation and Felecia called her natural daughter every day for three weeks.
In addition to meeting her natural father and brother at the airport, Felecia also met her maternal Aunt, brother, and sister in law. The physical resemblance of her natural mother was scary to these folks but ultimately decided it was good.
Felecia is now based in Fort Worth and due to be discharged from the Army at the end of the year. Her natural family is planning a big party in California in December to celebrate their meeting.
