My blogging is a bit behind lately due to my grandson's (my daughter's middle child) little league schedule. T. is nearly 12 years old, and is a super athlete. The past week or so, he's been playing AllStars little league games for the championship. I went to one game last week, another on Saturday, and then one Monday. He hit a home run during one of the games that I missed. His mom (my daughter) called to tell me right after he hit it. When I called the next day to congratulate him, he was so sweet and modest, and seemed pleased that I had called. Right before I hung up the phone, he said, "I love you, Gram". Do many 12-year old boys tell their Gram that?

During the last game I watched, my grandson made 10 plays at third base and hit three doubles! My daughter, grandson, hubby and I had such a blast watching sweet little T. He is so focused when he plays sports and gives it all he has. I clapped so hard my hands hurt! The last double T. hit, the score was tied 3-3, based loaded, and there were already two outs. The little guy is an amazing athlete! As we were leaving and congratulating T., he grinned big, hugged us goodbye, and thanked my hubby and I for coming. It doesn't get much better! My children and grandchildren mean the world to me - and when I talk to them, spend time with them and know that I matter to them too, I am a happy camper! If this heat wave we are experiencing would let up, I'd be even happier.

The final little league game for my grandson T. is tomorrow night. We'll be there to cheer him on! Children, and grandchildren - I am profoundly grateful that they're in my life. What does any of this have to do with adoption? Let's see, I was 16 when my daughter was born. If my parents had been inclined to push adoption, I would never have raised her and known my grandchildren. Ugh, what a thought! I do think about things like that from time to time.

Maybe, I wanted to let you know that birth moms love their children too? I was brimming over with good, and grateful feelings for my children and grandchildren, and just needed to write about it. All three of my children (and grandchildren)are so important to me. Knowing the son that I relinquished and now Fed Ex cookies to occasionally - seems a near miracle. I am grateful. Oh, and my daughter just brought me chocolates from a trip to Paris. Life is sweet!

P.S. My grandson's team won their league championship. He had a whole slew of us there to cheer him on! It was such a joy to watch him, and see his pride when presented with his medal.
