Granny Annie aka Anita Field has been searching since 1993 and has gone through the usual channels with no success. In fact, she has tried more than the traditional methods to find any birth family members. She successfully petitioned the court and obtained her birth records. However, since her adoption was a gray market adoption, she knows that some of the information on her records is probably not accurate. She is not even certain which of the two dates that she obtained for her birth date is correct. Ms. Field was born on August 6th or 9th, 1937 and believes that she was born in Chicago. However, she has many conflicting details.

Anita has taken out ads in newspapers and registered with every registry and genealogy site that she could find. She has tried the Illinois Confidential Intermediary System, and even Kinsolving, a well respected adoption search firm. Along the way, she has also tried others searchers. Yet, she is unable to find her any of her birth family after fourteen years of searching.

After trying nearly everyone possible to find birth family, Anita Fields is now trying a less conventional method. Nothing that she has done so far has located anyone in her birth family. Now, she is putting her story out there and is looking for a miracle. She is asking for people to circulate her story as widely as possible. That’s why I included her link above. Check it out and see if anything looks familiar. Feel free to post in other spots in hopes that it will reach someone who may recognize some of her details and help her find some birth family.

One thing that I know for certain is that there are many miracles in adoption. They happen every day. I hope that one is coming Grannie Annie's way soon!
