This gathering for Korean born adoptees is being called Chicago Mini Gathering and is sponsored by AK Connection. This gathering is for Korean born adoptees who are 18 years of age and older.

They organization has chosen Chicago because it is centrally located for easy access. Many of you may be familiar with Chicago because of the many things it is known for such as

Mobsters
The longest losing lovable baseball team – Go Cubs!
The tallest occupied building – Sears Tower
Oprah
Millennium Park
Shopping

The gathering is being planned for November 9th-12th, 2006 and has a lot to offer. The weekend is comprised of discussion sessions, guest speakers, 2007 info session, social events, and lots of opportunity to experience all that Chicago has to offer.

The registration cost is $75 per participant and must be paid by November 2nd.

It is also my understanding that hotel accommodations are available at the Ramada Plaza O’Hare in Chicago for $139 per room with two beds in the room. When making reservations, you need to let the hotel know that you will be attending this gathering.

The schedule of events for the gathering start on Thursday, November 9th with cocktails and dinner at the Ramada Red Eye Lounge. Friday and Saturday are sessions on various topics that are of interest to those attending and the gathering ends on Sunday with a brunch.
