2007 appears to be full of promise and engaging year for the Child Welfare League of America’s (CWLA) Mid Atlantic Region. They will be starting the year with the relase of the Request for Proposals and Save the Date for their upcoming regional conference in September 2007.
The theme for this years conference is Crisis in Child Welfare: Strengthening Public Policy and Practice. The conference will be held at the Sheraton Baltimore City Center Hotel in Baltimore, MD.
This is an opportunity for many of us to share and exchange information regarding best practices and strong public policy from across the country. The deadline for submissions of the Request for Proposals is Friday, February 16, 2007.

The selection criteria in addition to their focus are requirements will be rated on the revelance to the conference theme, engaging format, innovation, style, clarity, originality, and ability to be replicated, cultural competence, and relevance for the target audience.

The workshop proposal also must include a workshop description, an abstract of your workshop and a brief biographical summary for each presenter.
The workshops are being planned to be approximately one and a half hours or 3 hours long. The selected presenters must agree in writing to conduct their presentations regardless of the number of attendees pre-registered for the session and provide an electronic copy of any handout materials for their workshop presentations for inclusion on a D to be provided to all conference registrants and to bring with them to their presentation paper copies of handouts in a quantity sufficient for their workshop participants.
Presenters will also be expected to register for the conference and pay for their own expenses. The daily attendance fee is waived for presenters only for the day of their presentations.
