In case you are not aware of
this resource, I decided to highlight it for you. Adoption.com’s emagazine publishes weekly and offers a vast amount of information. One particular feature that can help those who are searching is called, "Speak Out."
To Speak Out and share your opinion or a comment, or to respond to a message, e-mail editor@adoption.com.
Although this area was intended for opinions and comments, many searchers now post their information here. They hope that someone may recognize some of the details of their birth or adoption and be able to help locate their birth family member. Another idea is that the person they are looking for will see their posted details and recognize them. This may sound like a long shot, but in adoption search and reunions people do find each other in a wide variety of ways. In adoption search, it is advisable to try even long shots at times.
Subscribing to this adoption e-magazine is free, and it has a wide readership. It arrives in your email box and is distributed to nearly 127,000 subscribers each week. In addition to the "Speak Out" feature, it has many other interesting adoption related features. Some of these include poems, stories, announcements about conferences and meetings to name just a few of the features.
My involvement with adoption.com began with the e-magazine. I co-authored an advice column that appeared in Adoption Week. It was an interesting venture, and I enjoyed the exposure to all members of the triad. Many of the questions I received revolved around search and reunion, however, there were a wide variety of inquiries. Some of the people who wrote in with questions still keep in touch with me.
Each week, three of our adoption blogs @adoptionblogs.com are featured in the e-magazine as well. There are also various articles on pertinent subjects and news stories about adoption are included as well.
