In yesterday’s Buffalo News there was an editorial column regarding a man who was convicted and sentenced to three years and one month in jail for stalking his natural mother. To read the entire article you can visit http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20060709/5048767.asp

The adoptee was living in California and found his natural mother was an attorney living in Queens, NY. It stated in the article the adoptee was using threatening phone calls and faxes to terrorize the woman over state lines These included messages on her home phone, office phone, faxes which some were pornographic in nature. Some of the messages were calling the natural mother a terrorist and expressing a desire to shake the hand of anyone who raped her. The adoptee even referred to himself as a “living abortion”

The article does not state which state the adoption was finalized in but the adoptee learned of his natural mothers identity 4 years ago when he persuaded a court to unseal his adoption records. The natural mother refused to reunite with the adoptee and that is when he inundated her with phone messages and faxes.

The adoptee was conceived when out of rape by her ex fiancé and the natural mother testified that she wanted no lasting tie with the father. On the other hand, the adoptee was quoted as saying “I am somebody who has been deeply hurt. I was looking for what was missing in his life – a mom, a family.”

An article printed on January 3rd of this year in the NY Daily News gives more details to the adoptee’s obsession. The entire article can be read at http://www.nydailynews.com/01-03-2006/news/story/379633p-322364c.html
This article is a result of a letter that the adoptee sent to the NY Daily Times and suggests that the trial would be used as a desperate attempt to win recognition from the woman who put him up for adoption 40 years ago.
