Betty Jean Lifton, a well respected adoption reformer who has been very active in the movement for many years, was scheduled to speak at an upcoming conference in NYC. However, read what happened to that idea here. She used the "B" word and apparently that was not cool.
The "B" word you say? Nope, probably not the "B" word that you might be be mulling over in your head. The "B" word in this situation is definitely not one that you might consider a word that you would be chastised for using. Come to thing... more

For the past several years new laws have enabled adoptees to find out about and meet their natural relatives or have an adoption reunion. Some countries such as Australia have also given rights to natural relatives who have been separated by adoption. England and Wales also passed the Adoption and Children Act of 2002 which means that since 2005 natural relatives have been able to ask an adoption agency to make contact with the adoptee on their behalf.
Adoption reunions are also a huge public interest and all over the country there is lots... more

He then states in the letter that “unfortunately, my mother had other concerns that came before reuniting with her grandson and myself.”
The FBI stated in this article that in addition to the phone and fax messages she was receiving the adoptee mailed her packages of baby clothes, toys, light bulbs, and rocks. He also placed an ad in the NY times that read “Roger, sadly... more
