They had little chance to talk though or they might have discovered their connection at that time.

I know another adoptee who discovered that several years before reunion that he and... more

Busily working on a writing project a while back, I was concentrating more on it than my blog. So many wonderful topics were in my head, and yet not have enough time to blog about them all. However, as I was researching, I came across several adoption reunion stories on Reunion.com.

The stories mention that on Reunion.com, there are several ways to search. One way that they allow you to search is by school; another is by name. This could be very useful for several reasons. I have run into a few... more

She then told me that she was in the Pentagon on the top floor of the outer ring of the building and missed getting killed by about 40 feet.

A year or so ago, I received an email from a male adoptee in his thirties named Doug Dittbenner. He told me a bit about his reunion story. I can't recall if he asked about publishing his story at Adoption Week e-magazine or I suggested it. However, he did decide to write a story about his reunion.

We wouldn't have cared a bit about the mistakes she had made. We wouldn't have judged her. We would have understood.

In this reunion, like many others, there are some typical aspects and some less usual ones as well. The adoptee was never told that she was adopted, although she suspected that she was. She asked her parents if she was adopted many times, but was always told that she was not. The reason that she believed that she had been adopted was that she looked nothing like her parents.

A friend had helped arrange the adoption, and lived next door to the birth mother. As it turns out, the adoptee went with her adoptive mother to visit the friend once and she played... more
